Do any of these moves require
previous dance experience? I'm a complete beginner.
These moves do not really require any previous experience. Few
guys have it, so this video only teaches moves that you can
all pick up quickly, and almost effortlessly. The instructors
break everything down to such simple steps and movements that
any guy dancing for even the first time can pick up the moves
after practicing for just a few times. The truth is you can
even learn complex moves on DVD with no previous experience.
The key is in the instruction and the camera angles.
Can I really learn from a
DVD?
Absolutely. The instructors do an incredible job of making each
move very easy to learn. They first show you how each move looks
full speed, so you could see what you're about to learn. Then
they break it down, step by step, and teach it to you from the
front, back and side angles. Seeing each move from different
angles answers any questions you might have about the specifics
of each move. The instructors also show you common mistakes
and the wrong way to do each move so you can see the difference
and apply it. The best part of learning from a DVD is that its
like a private lesson that you can retake an unlimited amount
of times.
How quickly will I learn these
moves? I cannot devote a lot of time to this right now.
It will take you a lot quicker than you think. Assuming you
have very little to no dance experience, you will pick up the
majority of these moves after going through the video only 5
or 6 times. The first two viewings will get your body accustomed
to the new movements and instruction, and from there expect
to practice a few more times to really get the hang of each
move. There's only 2 or 3 moves that may take a bit longer to
learn, but that drop extra is well worth the effort when you
see the reactions you'll get in the clubs. So in short, about
a week, perhaps even sooner.
Who are the instructors? What
qualifications do they have to teach?
Your instructors are Joe Hamrick and Kevin R. Hayes Jr. who
have over 14 years combined teaching experience in LA and NY.
They have taught thousands of people to dance in person and
have held dance workshops throughout the United States. They
have appeared on ABC, NBC, FOX, VH1, MTV, BET and in countless
live performances. With their ability to break down even the
toughest moves in a simple, personable manner, they are able
to keep you entertained and motivated as you learn each move
with ease.
Are these dance moves similar
to what I see in music videos?
Most moves featured in music videos on MTV and BET are just
plain goofy or not applicable for clubs. With few exceptions
like Usher, and Justin Timberlake most dancing in music videos
is either cheesy where if imitated girls will laugh or it's
just so over-the-top outrageous that people will wonder why
you're showing off - neither of which is the reaction you want.
Just to be clear, by learning the moves in this video you will
get nonstop compliments and fantastic reactions - but this will
be a positive "wow, that guy is an awesome dancer"
reaction, rather than "Ok. We get it. You learned how to
spin on your head. Now leave us alone and stop showing off."
How are they different from
moves in music videos?
The instructors show you a wide arrangement of club moves
from laid back, to fun and flirty, to high energy, to fast-paced
to grinding. All these moves will get you the reactions you
want in the club.
In choosing the moves for this DVD the instructors only picked
what's hot and relevant to clubs to make sure you get that awesome
reaction and non-stop compliments.
Will I learn moves or routines?
How do you see the difference?
This DVD teaches you hot club moves rather than routines. Routines
are associated with choreography and usually consist of a bunch
of movements that are done to a particular song or beat. They
can't really be applied in clubs where the music is constantly
changing because once the beat changes, so does the routine.
Routines are also way too much work, take too long to learn
and are very rarely not seen as cheesy because people can tell
that you just memorized a bunch of steps. We teach you individual
club moves, all of which you can do on their own or combine
them in any combinations you see fit.
I am not sure that I will
be able to approach girls I've never met before on the dance
floor even after learning all these moves.
One of the things you'll learn from the instructors and from
the girl commentaries is that almost all girls at the club want
to be approached. That's why they're at the club. Think about
it - do you go to a building packed with several hundred people
only to hang out with the 3 friends you came with? Absolutely
not, and they don't either. If they wanted to talk amongst themselves
they would have just gone to a coffehouse or a restaurant rather
than a packed club where they can hardly hear each other. So
they just drink and dance, hoping that a guy who gets this and
knows how to dance will approach them. Unfortunately, most guys
are either too uncomfortable to approach or they just approach
the wrong way and try to start immediately grinding.
Wait - so I'm not supposed
to walk up and start grinding with the girl?
Not really. Very rarely will a girl feel totally comfortable
grinding with you right when you've approached. You have to
first warm her up to you and just dance doing a few moves,
with a foot or so between you two. Then you can spin her around
a few times and keep dancing for another minute. You'll see
her smiling and then maybe you spin her full body around while
moving her closer to you and place her hand on your neck,
and then move into the grinding steps you'll learn.
In order to keep the above two responses short, we have only
brushed the surface. If these are the areas you are concerned
with our newsletter will give you a lot of helpful details.

Will I have to learn all these
moves or can I get away with learning just several?
You can certainly learn only 2 or 3 moves, 1 or 2 transitions,
and 1 or 2 grinding steps and you will still be one of the best
dancers in the entire club. Most clubgoers just have no clue
how to dance, and it's not their fault, they have never been
taught. The instructors teach you variations that spice up everymove
which even means you can get away with doing the same moves
all night. Of course, by learning all of the moves in this DVD,
you prepare yourself to become the best dancer in the club.
What situations can these
moves be used in?
Hip Hop Moves for the club teaches moves for a variety of
situations that come up at a club. The instructors teach you
everything from laid back moves to use by the bar or talking
to a girl, to high mommentum steps you can use to dance in
a group, to grinding moves, to flirtatious spin moves and
transitions, to eye-catching moves you can use to show off.
Hip Hop Moves For The Club delivers more than just moves
for clubbing. These situations come up at frat parties, dive
bars, weddings, chritmas parties, and even high school dances.
The DVD teaches you a whole spectrum of moves whose intensity
you can pull-back or increase based on the situation. For
a more formal occassion you might choose to pull-back on the
grinding moves and focus on the moves that will keep things
clean and fun. For parties with your friends, the instructors
show you hip hop and grinding moves that are sure to impress.
When is Volume 2 coming out
and what will it include?
Volume 2, advanced steps, will be released this fall. The video
will feature guest instructors, advanced moves that will teach
you how to dance like a professional, more tips, and a hot new
location!
What year was this released
- are these moves appropriate for clubs now?
This DVD was released in February 2007, so these moves are very
much in style now.
I bought an instructional
DVD from another studio and it didn't live up to my expectations.
What guarantee do I have that this will?
The Nightclub Dance Series was born out of the fact that no
videos previously released were good enough. Either the instruction
and production quality were too low or the content was just
not relevant to the way people dance in clubs now. Other DVDs
feature instructors who speed through prepared choreography
and spend most of their time showing off. Most importantly they
just don't teach you moves that you can take outside of your
living room. Hip Hop Moves For The Club offers instructors with
experience teaching beginners, each with his own style which
means you get to mimmick the one that fits you best. It has
unique angles and close-ups that allow you to learn from the
front, side, and back. It was filmed in a popular nightclub
and the energetic club setting provides for a unique learning
experience. The video also provides commentary from female clubgoers
that let you in on their secrets. The video is catered towards
guys who want to learn how to dance in clubs in everyway and
nothing is left out.
